CASADEMAR is 1065kms from Durban through Swaziland and 1000kms from Johannesburg. The roads are tarred but for the last 19kms which is a real 4 x 4 sand track which requires deflating tyres and engaging free wheeling hubs, low ratio and diff locks etc.Click to open enlarged

South Africans do not require visas for Mocambique. All other Nationals should check with a travel agent or the Mocambique consulate.

Vehicle registration papers are required at the border. If the vehicle is not registered in your name you are also required to have a letter of permission from the owner or from the bank if on lease.Click to open enlarged

R17,00 fee per passport is payable at the Mocambique border.

R8,00 (Mt26,50) charge for temporary importation of the vehicle to Mocambique is payable at the border.

R150,00 Compulsory Mocambique 3rd Party Insurance is payable at the border, plus R80.00 for a trailer.

Cell phones with International roaming operate on most of the route covered by the network. The reception at Casa de Mar is weak and sometimes requires climbing up a sand dune.Click to open enlarged

Malaria is present in Mocambique. We do however, have very high sand dunes and are not normally bothered by mosquitoes. Consult your doctor or pharmacist regarding precautions against malaria.

Boat launching, spearfishing and angling licenses are required and are available from management.
